All-Purpose Spray Cleaner
1 tsp borax
1/2 tsp washing soda
1 tsp liquid castile soap
10 drops On Guard essential oil
10 drops Lemon essential oil
2 cups warm distilled water
Mix the ingredients together in a spray bottle. Use as you would any all-purpose disinfecting cleaner
The Best Bathroom Cleaner
1/2 c. baking soda
1/2 c. washing soda
1/2 c. liquid castile soap
25 drops On Guard essential oil
20 drops lemon essential oil
2 Tbsp. white vinegar (optional)
Mix baking soda, washing soda, and liquid soap in a medium-sized container until it’s pasty and mushy. Add essential oils and mix thoroughly. Add the vinegar. It will make the mixture fizz a little, but it will stop. Store in an airtight container. Scoop out what you need with a sponge, scrub, and rinse. If the cleaner dries out add a little more vinegar and castile soap.
Daily Shower Spray
1/2 c. rubbing alcohol
1/2 c. hydrogen peroxide
25 drops peppermint essential oil
2 tsp liquid castile soap
Mix everything together in a spray bottle. Shake well. Shake well before spraying all over your shower, daily, after you’ve finished bathing.
Glass Cleaner
1 c. distilled, very hot water
1/2 Tbsp cornstarch
1/8 c. rubbing alcohol (at least 70% isopropyl, if not more)
1/8 c. white vinegar
Boil your water and let it cool just a bit. Add cornstarch to your spray bottle, and then the hot water. Shake well to dissolve. Add the rubbing alcohol and vinegar, and shake again. Every time you use this, you’ll want to shake it up to avoid clogging the spray nozzle with undissolved cornstarch.
Laundry Soap
1 5-oz. bar Dr. Bronner's pure castile soap (or other pure castile bar soap)
1/2 c. washing soda
1/4 c. baking soda
1/4 c. Celtic sea salt, epsom salt, or kosher Real Salt
In a food processor with a grating attachment, shred the bar of soap (you can do it manually if you'd rather, but use the finest grate on your grater). Remove the grating attachment and add the washing soda, baking soda, and salt to the food processor then pulse together until a fine powder results (or if you're doing it manually, just mix the finely shredded soap and the powders together in a bowl). To use, add 1 tablespoon (2 tablespoons for very soiled clothes) to a regular load of wash.

Fabric Softener
2 cups hot water
1 cup baking soda
2 cups white vinegar
20 drops lavender essential oil
20 drops lemon essential oil
Mix water and baking soda in a large container (I use an empty vinegar bottle). Slowly add vinegar. The mixture will fizz and expand. Add the essential oils. Shake before using. Use 1/4-1/2 cup per load.
*Or just add white vinegar to the rinse cycle. The smell will disappear as the clothes dry. I also recommend wool dryer balls. A drop or two of essential oil in the vinegar or on the dryer balls will add a light scent to clothing.
DIY Carpet Refresher
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup borax
10 drops essential oil (I use Purify by doTERRA)
Mix the baking soda and borax. Stir in the essential oil (I find a whisk works best). Sprinkle over carpet, let stand 10-15 minutes, and vacuum. For best results, vacuum before sprinkling as well.
